Did You Know?

Built in 1898, Milo’s Place is a Victorian-style home that functioned as a law office for several decades. It still has some original features including stained glass windows and woodwork.

Walking up the front porch, you almost feel as if you’re walking up to the house from Disney Pixar’s “Up.” Easter eggs of the Milo’s Place moniker can be found throughout the home, hidden in rosemaling, clocks, trim, and coasters. Owners Andrew and Jeremy Young went all out to make Milo’s Place a whimsical experience.

Because the house was previously a law office, the Youngs had to make some renovations after purchasing it in the fall of 2023. A kitchen, laundry room, and a proper bathroom were added, and one of two stairwells was removed. The Youngs worked with KBA Architecture and Radiant Homes to bring their dreams to life.

Walking into the main entry, you’re instantly greeted with a beautiful open living room with crescent swivel lounge chairs, an upright piano, and a wet bar. Custom wallpaper patterns and rich colors theme each room, giving every space its own unique experience.

The TV room/study is adorned in a warm burgundy with large bay windows, a fireplace, a 55-inch smart TV, and more. This room is also where the treasure hunt begins.

Don’t forget to stop and browse the upstairs hallway, which features framed pages from a 1903 catalog that was found inside the walls of the home during renovation.

Down the hall, you are greeted with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, laundry, and a full bathroom with a tiled shower. The kitchen, which is a statement piece in itself, features a tiled backsplash, an oven, stove, dishwasher, apron sink, and gold accents.

3 of the Coolest Things about 3 Milo’s Place

  1. All artwork in the home is by Fargo or North Dakota artists.
  1. There’s a treasure hunt experience in the home.
  1. The custom wallpaper in the home is designed by Fargo artists and was inspired by some of the original wallpaper uncovered during renovations.

Moving upstairs, the two bedrooms continue the trend of colored rooms. If bright and airy with a hit of Nordic woods is your vibe, you will love the first bedroom, which features a queen bed. If dark and mysterious is more your pace, you’ll love the second bedroom, which is adorned in a deep blue, making you feel like royalty.

The Story Behind the Name

Milo’s Place is a tribute to a special little boy named Milo, who touched the hearts of owners Andrew and Jeremy deeply. “We purchased this home when we were expecting twins through the process of adoption. When the adoption failed, this home was no longer needed for a family of four, so we decided to turn it into a kick-ass Airbnb,” Andrew said. “Milo was the name we chose for our twin boy born September 1, 2022. His sister sadly and unexpectedly passed away during birth. Everything in this home’s design, including the love and care that was put into every detail is inspired by the home’s history, its era, and our (short) time and experience with Milo.
