See Some Of The Stunning, Unique Homes From This Year’s Spring Parade Of Homes

The Spring Parade of Homes features tours of several homes in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo. This year we visited three homes and talked with the builders.

If you’ve ever wanted to tour some of the most beautiful homes in Fargo-Moorhead, then the Parade of Homes is the perfect event for you. Held each spring and fall, it features tours of several homes throughout Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo.

The Spring Parade of Homes, hosted by the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead, took place April 27-29 and May 4-6.

People can explore most of the homes that are part of the Parade for free and talk with the builders to learn more about the home’s unique features. Homes for every market are included, like for first-time home owners, luxury home buyers and everything in between.

For a $5 fee, you can explore the featured luxurious homes, which must be priced at $750,000 or more and be a first-time entrant in the Parade. That fee helps fundraise for the Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation, the HBA of FM’s charity that supports scholarships and projects related to housing.

This year 93 homes were included in the Spring Parade of Homes, and Design & Living Magazine stopped by a few of them to scout the current trends and unique features at each of the homes.

Spring Trends

1. Neutral tones with pops of color

Dark gray and brown accented with colors like gold, blue and green seemed to be the most popular color combinations.

2. Open, airy design

Whether there were 10-foot ceilings or an open-concept kitchen and living room, several builders mentioned the importance of space for entertaining purposes.

3. Bright areas with lots of windows

Many of the homes featured either several smaller windows or a few larger windows to help more natural light pour into the home and brighten up the space.

“The 10-foot ceilings in the living spaces help the big airy feel when you walk in,” Tehan said.

The mud room and garage entry in the front ties to the master bedroom, which Tehan said was another unique feature of the home.

The next Parade of Homes will take place Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 6-7, 2018.
